I don’t know Reed personally nor have I read the reviews, but some of the people on there seem to believe he was out there to drum up sales for his own books and hits for his web site. In this day and age, it’s a fairly normal (unfortunately) tactic to sling mud at the competition. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is part of the sales strategy. I’m not saying that it is necessarily.
The Rich Dad series isn’t really meant to be taken word-for-word no matter what Kiyosaki’s background is. It’s just a general teaching of basic concepts in a very qualitative type approach. If you think some of the ideas make sense, then by all means, go with it. If not, then move on and read another book. It only takes a day to finish the book anyway.
I read the book a while back. I didn’t really learn anything new that I didn’t already know, but it was interesting to see someone else put the concepts together in a book.

I am a mother of 3 girls and I am looking to start a home based business. I have a degree in Business Mtg/Marketing. Most of my experience is in advertising. I have sold media and print. Although I enjoy the sales aspect my passion is in creating promotional materials. I am very good at creating PowerPoint Presentations, fliers, specification sheets, training material and mass mailings etc. I want to find a small niche area that will allow growth and prove to be lucrative. I am looking for ANY and ALL ideas. Nothing will be discounted. – Thank you!
